Who is this training for? This training is for anyone who is ready for a journey, whether or not they foresee themselves officially working in the wellness arena post certification. This training is for anyone seeking change and looking to discover more depth, meaning and purpose within their work. This training is for anyone who wants to work in a manner that is truly trauma informed. This training is for anyone who wants to learn to work in an authentically holistic manner incorporating and honouring the somatic, psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of those they work with - the whole person.
This training is for clinicians who feel that the paradigm they trained in is not serving them as fully as they might have hoped and who are ready to rejuvenate their passion and their work by weaving an entirely new approach in to their practice. This training is for therapists or other wellness professionals who would like to learn how to work with the breath and the body far beyond the basics. This training is for body workers, health practitioners, or yoga & meditation teachers who would like to advance their practice or learn how to work therapeutically with their clients. This training is for those who previously trained or wanted to train in Kundalini Yoga and loved the style of movement but have no desire to be affiliated with Yogi Bhajan or the KRI paradigm anymore-who feel called to dive deep in to the essence of this powerful practice and explore its ancient and intuitive roots. This training is for those of you who have had no training in any of these respective fields and are ready to learn from the ground up.
This training is for anyone who wants to help others heal effectively and efficiently and who doesn't feel drawn to pursue traditional training routes that can often be outdated and too heavy on theory over experience. This is a no fluff high calibre training - we teach you the stuff that really matters in practice and offer you a depth of experience that will transform you both personally and professionally.
Our culture is increasingly understanding the enormous value of "alternative" medical professionals such as naturopathic doctors or functional medicine practitioners. Many of us have discovered that the direction of such professionals can often support more health and healing than that of those who have come from more conventional medical backgrounds. That is not to dispute the value of conventional allopathic medicine - it can and does save lives. But it is also limited and tends to be more about symptom management than curing root causes of imbalance and disease.
In the same way, traditional counselling and psychotherapy undoubtedly has its value and there are many wonderful clinicians doing remarkable work. But our society is opening to more alternative approaches, to the idea that there is more than one way of doing things, and understanding that many holistic practitioners are as skilled as their clinically trained peers. A trauma informed holistic approach is equally about treating underlying cause and condition rather than managing symptoms. My personal and professional experience is that an integrative approach can often support more rapid and radical change than years of traditional counselling or psychotherapy.
The world of mental health treatment is rapidly evolving. We are at the forefront of that revolution. This training is designed to create an army of highly skilled holistic health professionals who have the confidence and capacity to lead the way and shine a light in troubled times.

ISOHH Founder & Lead Trainer - Aimee Rai, Creator of TIIA© Therapy & Soul Medicine Somatics©
"I have heard others refer to Aimee as a wise woman. I could not disagree. She's a bit of a powerhouse! Im a clinical psychotherapist, so, if I'm honest, at first I was sceptical that she would have much to offer me, but some part of me was curious. Thank goodness I was able to trust that curios part! In many ways I have learnt more from her in the last months than in all my years of conventional education. She has revolutionised my practice and I am changed as a person" - Benjamin, London
For the last decade Aimee has been revolutionising the way we approach mental health and general wellbeing through her unique and truly holistic approach to healing.
"I am not your average therapeutic professional. I don't have a degree and I didn't train in the traditional way. For a long time I felt inadequate because of this. But that changed. The more people that came to me disappointed and disillusioned with the clinical care that they had received, the more I came to realise that my lack of conventional training was an asset - that it allowed me to form a truly intuitive and integrative approach to the work. I have come to understand that skilled holistic practitioners such as myself are vital, that we are serving an evolution in the field of mental health treatment and care. Initially I worked with people one to one at their request in the role of teacher and mentor. I was sharing what I was learning on my own path as I healed from complex trauma that manifested as addictions, eating disorders, anxiety, depression and chronically low self esteem. I was helping people, but I wanted to learn more, to go beyond what my personal experience and natural gifts seem to provide I studied the art of movement and meditation, initially via the teachings of Kundalini Yoga. The practice taught me the power of working with, from and through the body, and I went on to work with the body through many different forms of movement healing. I trained and read and read and trained. I worked with a lot of remarkable teachers and therapists. As I unfolded myself across more than a decade a clear vision of the various components necessary for a holistic healing process emerged. I did hundreds of hours of study and learning - just not in the ways or in the order that most mental health professionals do. In a sense, I trained backwards - I specialised only in trauma. With hindsight, I now see that this gifted me with clear vision, a vision that was not clouded by outdated ways of treating and pathologising - ways that weren't appropriately and properly trauma informed. I studied with pioneers such as Bessel van der Kolk, Gabor Mate, Peter Levine, Linda Parnell, Arielle Schwartz, Peter Levine, Richard Schwarz, and Eric Gentry of the Arizona Trauma Institute. I devoured the teachings of the wisdom traditions and somatic arts with fervour and fascination learning from leaders and legends such as Gabrielle Roth, Don Campbell, Christopher Wallace, Lorin Roche, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and his student, Reggie Ray. So much of what I learnt from both the psychologists, the scientists, the artists and the spiritual teachers, aligned both psychologically and somatically, with the ways I was already working or affirmed the conclusions that I had been slowly moving toward myself. I was having success with the people who had struggled to find freedom and healing elsewhere. People were experiencing undeniable shift after years of fruitless therapy or dedicated spiritual practice. I integrated my growing understanding of trauma and its science and psychology with my years of meditative study and other somatic practice. People came to me desperate, dark and suffering, and those that stayed for the ride and were ready to really do the work, left very different - calmer, clearer, lighter, and above all, closer to the Self that had been buried beneath the often invisible traumas of life. I watched the lights come on in peoples eyes. I watched them reclaim their dignity, divinity and sense of personal power. I watched them recover themselves. So much is distorted and fragmented through our western lens. We need an approach to healing that is not only holistic, but considered in its approach. Its not just about having the right ingredients, its about knowing how to use them, in what order, and why. This revolutionary training model offers exactly that - a recipe that I have spent many years refining. At this stage a decade down the line, I am overrun with enquiries. I have a waiting list as long as my arm and no more hours or energy to give without compromising the love and care that I want to offer each wonderful person I work with. And that is why I now need you. We need more of us working boldly, bravely, outside the box, leading the way and shining a light together. We need more of us demonstrating, primarily through ourselves, and secondarily through our work, that radical freedom, no matter what our history, really is possible." |
"I am fully aware that what I’m about to say involves an awful lot of internalised misogyny but the only way I can convey what I want to express is to say that you just don’t expect this kind of wisdom to flow from the lips of a pocket sized blonde! I think that many of us look toward Eastern sages and old men with long beards or at the very least someone in robes and beads to access this level of insight. And yet here it is, being quietly and unpretentiously shared in the Cotswolds countryside. Everything about Aimee and her teaching is disruptive. I am sure that her words will grace the pages of many books in time to come, but for now, I cannot express what a privilege it is to call her my teacher." - Rachel, UK
